Morris County has an amazing library with borrowing privileges available to all County residents, plus residents of Bernard’s Township and Hackettstown. The online part of the library, Morris Automated Information Network (MAIN) is available from one’s home computer. It’s offerings are second to none.
However, its worth noting that there are four municipalities who do not have public libraries. Taxes are lower by roughly $80 – $120 per family per year. And that’s not nothing.
It does mean that some residents of the County must go to Whippany, where the County Library is located, to borrow books. The rest of us can have books sent to our local library by placing an online reservation. These towns are:
- Boonton Twp
- Mine Hill
- Victory Gardens
