We are investing in Morris County communities
The Morris County Economic Development Alliance (MCEDA) was established with the intention of furthering economic development initiatives within the County. The MCEDA also provides support of municipalities and not-for-profit groups including business improvement districts that promote economic development through a variety of programs.
2018 MCEDA Municipal Grant Program
MCEDA will provide grants between $500 and $2500 to municipalities and would consider larger grants in the amount of $5000 – $10,000 grants if determined that the proposed project will be of significant impact (e.g. involves multiple communities). The grants are to support projects that do both of the following:
- advance economic development initiatives, and
- help to raise the profile of economic development in communities and the municipal economic development committee, if applicable
The grants will fund projects related to economic development. Two‐thirds of the grant will be paid to the municipality up front, with the balance (1/3) paid when the project is complete. While no cash match is required to apply, matching of the grant with municipal funds and/or providing in-kind labor by staff and volunteers is encouraged. The MCEDA also encourages municipalities to collaborate with other non-profits such as local chambers of commerce and municipalities and/or seek complementary grants to maximize resources of multiple organizations thereby creating and leveraging partnerships to create “high impact” projects.
